National
Widget Company Announces Rehiring
The
National Widget Company is rehiring 50 of its Victoria employees following a nationwide
layoff last year.
The
plan to re-hire all Victoria based employees to its head office was announced
today. Employees will be called in as needed while the NWC accommodates their
return, with the company operating at full capacity within 6 weeks.
“We
have sent recall notices to all employees who were laid off in June" says NWC President Andrew Bryce. "As a
family-owned company, it was heartbreaking to lay off so many loyal people so
we are thrilled to be offering employment to people we consider part of the
family."
Sales
of widgets have been increasing steadily in the past few months. Although the
widget market is traditionally based in the Middle East, the NWC was able to
find new markets in China.
“The
opening up of the Chinese residential market represents opportunity and a
secure market on which to expand our capacity” says Bryce. The NWC is also the
first company in the world to approach and make a deal with the Chinese.
